tasha smith -professionally known as 'bytashax'- is a versatile professional makeup artist and hair stylist based in the West Midlands. she utilises her training and professional skill base to create a wide variety or unique and creative makeup and hair looks, ranging from editorial to special effects to postiche (and everything in-between.)

tasha promotes herself as a HMUA who strives to enhance everybody's natural beauty, with her main goal being to ensure that every single client or model feels beautiful and confident in the look created for them.

tasha studied Level 2 & 3 Theatrical Hair and Media Makeup throughout 2 years at college.

recently graduating with first degree honors from a BA Hons degree in Specialist Hair and Media Makeup at University College Birmingham (UCB); tasha is now looking to expand her professional portfolio and continue to network and gain more work experience within the industry

the above qualifications have allowed her to build and develop skills in all aspects of the hair and makeup industry.
​
her experience includes: working on a variety of models in professional photoshoot environments, teaching workshops to University students, international competition entries, collaborative e-com work with online brands and working as a supervisor in the UCB Salon for the Birmimgham Commonwealth Games 2022. she is also still currently working on collaborating with other industry creatives to gain as much experience as possible.
